David Gardiner
CEO
NextMedia is a leading publisher of special interest magazines and the fourth largest magazine publishing group in Australia.
This investment opportunity emerged through Wolseley’s Bankable CEO© Program, where Wolseley worked alongside CEO David Gardiner and Commercial Director Bruce Duncan to identify, structure, negotiate and acquire four family owned publishing businesses in early 2008 followed by two subsequent acquisitions during 2009. NextMedia continues to pursue growth via further acquisitions and the capturing of synergies across purchasing and business practices.
The successful acquisitions of Horwitz Publications, Bluewater Publishing, Chevron Publishing, Next Publishing, Tracks, Waves, G Magazine and Yen brought together a group of over 30 magazines plus a range of DVD’s, books, websites and posters.
NextMedia’s titles include Inside Sport, Golf Australia, Tracks, Waves, Australian Muscle Car, Motor Racing Australia, Motorsport News, Bluewater Boats & Sportsfishing, PC Powerplay, TV Soap, Sound & Image, Camera, Mania, Girl Power, MAD Magazine, Little Angel, Wiggles, G Magazine and YEN.
David Gardiner was previously Deputy Chief Executive Officer of ACP Magazines, Australia’s largest magazine publishing group. David had responsibility for the overall direction, management and performance of the ACP magazine business.
Wolseley Private Equity is currently represented on the Board of NextMedia by James Todd (Chairman), Richard Burrows (Director), and Felix Danziger (Alternate Director).
